Utrecht is a large, old city and also the capital of the province of Utrecht of the same name. In Utrecht you can view top old buildings, shop until you're tired of it, relax in nature or go out for a walk. Utrecht is also referred to as the Dom City, named after the most important monument, the Dom tower of more than 112 meters.

As mentioned in the first paragraph, Utrecht is an old city. The historic center is then beautiful to view, with many old buildings and with many canals with terraces directly on the water. In 1808 the city itself was briefly the capital of the Kingdom of Holland. The city has more than 1400 national monuments.

As mentioned before, the Dom church tower is the most important monument in the city of Utrecht, the tower is 112 meters high. It is definitely worth climbing the church tower, you have a beautiful view over the city and surroundings, with clear weather you can already see Rotterdam. The nave of the church collapsed in 1674 by a tornado. The city also has 24 courtyards spread throughout the city.
